Livvie's 3rd Birthday

7:30 a.m. Livvie crawls into bed with me, where I smile and say, "Happy Birthday!" Eyes wide, Livvie says, "Today? Right now it's my birthday? It's September 10th?" Oh, what fun!

8 a.m. Me: "What do you want for breakfast? Anything you want!" Olivia: "Toast."

9 a.m. Livvie chooses to wear her blut polka dot dress. She watches one of her favorite videos, "Happy Birthday Bunnykins." She thinks it's really funny that today is her birthday, too!

10 a.m. We pick up birthday balloons, presents from Uncle Ryan's family & Grammy/Grampy, and also Melissa, who gives Olivia a sparkly card and a lovely tiara. Livvie wears it all day and night.

noon The girls feast on macaroni & cheese for Olivia's birthday lunch, because, "Mom, I like that even better than pizza."

5 p.m. Me: "What do you want for your birthday supper, Livvie?" Olivia: "Pizza!" We print out her coupon for a free pizza and head out the door, tiara and all.

7:30 p.m. Back at home, Livvie is beside herself with excitement at all the birthday gifts that await her.

She wants to open Grammy & Grampy's gifts first: a Dora placemat, a gardening apron, and a Cinderella puzzle, which she wants to open right now. (By the way, I look like Snow White, and Olivia looks like Cinderella. So says Livvie.)

She is speechless at the 10 bottles of paint from Grandma & Grandpa.

The OCD in her takes over, and she must immediately line them up and rattle off the colors.

Someone else notices all the fun bottles and does a little playing of her own...first onto the table...

...then onto the floor!

Uncle Ryan & Aunt Celeste's gift was another big hit. "Can we do it right now, Daddy?"

And you KNOW the Princess was excited about getting another dress. (from Grandpa & Grandma)

Mom's just glad we can take a break from Candy Land...
we ended up playing this game before bedtime.

They also gave Olivia her very own watering can, so she can help Mommy water her plants and flowers. It's a whale, and I'm sure it'll get used tomorrow, whether my foliage needs it or not.

Grandpa & Grandma, you'll be playing LOTS of games while you're here!

She was excited about her new pillow, made by Mommy, even before we showed her that it went along with a bigger present...

...her fairy canopy!

8:30 p.m. She loved her beautiful (her words, not mine!) Princess cake.

8:45 p.m. A special day calls for special nighttime activities.

It was loads of fun, until the last sparkler fizzled out and she decided to touch it. OUCH.

The Loot

9 p.m. Livvie begs for a couple books. Even though it's late, we consent. She's pretty traumatized by her burn, after all, and even more so by the band-aid I forced her to wear over it.
9:40 p.m. You'd better believe she asked to sleep in her fairy canopy. So of course, we let her. Kind of.

Happy Birthday, my little Fairy Princess! Hope you enjoyed your special day!

Wow! What a Birthday. I'd like to turn 3 again if I could have a day like that. What a day to remember.

So glad the home intimate party went over so well.

The fairy canopy turned out great!! I saw that in a magazine and have been trying to figure out where to put it if I ever get around to making one :) It's very cute--my girls would love it. Maybe I just needed motivation from you!!
