Catching Up

This past weekend we headed to Chicago for the annual CIT tournament. Our boys didn't fare so well; they lost both games. That was tough to take! If you like, you can read more about CIT here.

Other than the basketball diappointments, it was a nice trip, albeit a quick one. My parents came down and stayed in the same hotel, and Nate's parents made it to both games. We stayed overnight at his parents' on Saturday and came home Sunday evening.

Livvie caught a little sniffle and didn't sleep well all weekend. She has a cough and a drippy nose, but no other symptoms, thankfully!

We're back to the grind nowl I worked a regular day. Nate seems to have caught something now; he has a congested head and painful cough. Seems I'm the only healthy one this winter (knock on wood!)!

Well, I'd better get the girl some dinner and do the laundry. Adios!

Basketball and more basketball

We had a great time last night at the Pistons game, although we didn't actually get there til almost halftime (Nate had practice and didn't get home until about 8). But we saw plenty of basketball, and also the big horsey balloon, which Livvie loved! And the halftime show was really cool--it was 4 or 5 acrobatic people who did lots of flips and amazing stunts. Olivia especially loved the music... she's working on her dancing skills.

Today Concordia has a game at 3. Hopefully she'll be as content and relaxed today as she was last night!

Tonight CU had a game at Spring Arbor University (about an hour away). Livvie & I rode with Amy (another assistant's wife) and her son, Gabe. It was nice to have some company for the trip. We left a little early and stopped for a McDonald's supper. Well, Olivia had a supper from home--I had a double cheeseburger. Mmmm! She did have her first french fry, though, which was a big hit. But then again I don't know any kid who dislikes fries!
The 1st half of the game was great, and we led by about 12 at the half. But then SAU started hitting their shots, and our boys didn't know what to do! We lost by a handful. Bummer. But we have a really young team this year--lots of freshmen--and hopefully they'll hit their groove soon!
