A Fun 4th

Yesterday turned out to be a really great day, to our delightful surprise! Nate had to work, so we were unable to make the trip up to Beulah. Disappointed though I was, I made plans to relax & enjoy the day with The Girls. We braved the crowds and got great seats for the 4th of July parade, which Olivia LOVED! She waved her little flag so well and kept yelling, "America!"
She wasn't scared at all--of the fire trucks or the horses or the loud drums in the high school band! It was really fun. Ellia slept through all of it. :) Here are the girls in their T-shirts from Celeste. Ellie's says, "Little Firecracker."

She's so proud of the tattoo ("pattoo") that she got at the parade... a red, white, & blue heart. I told her emphatically that pretend tattoos are okay for special days, but forever tattoos are NOT! :)

Livvie took a grrrrrrrrrrrreat nap after all that excitement! I called Nate at 4-ish to discover that he would be home in about 40 minutes! Yay! (Thursday night he worked til 9:30 p.m. Yuck!) So we went over to the Limbacks' home [head coach @ Concordia] and enjoyed an evening together. We had picnic food, s'mores, and played a couple rounds of Sequence. Kelley & I won. :)

All in all, a very nice holiday.

So cute!! We had a great Fourth too! To my surprise(not his daddy's), Gage LOVED the fireworks. He missed a nap, hates loud noises, and is not a big fan of chaotic crowds, but he sat very still on my lap with his head resting on me and stared at them the entire time. Guess sometimes it pays to take a chance! Glad yours was fun too! Adorable shirts and tattoo too.
