We found this $100 black (YAY!) fridge on craigslist, which is certainly a big part of my thankful spirit tonight. But then I began the process of emptying out the old fridge. First I moved all of the frozen food items into the big freezer in the basement. I put all of the quick-spoil stuff into 2 coolers with ice packs and emptied out the rest of the fridge, including the top. As I grabbed the last item, I thought to myself, "Man! This took a long time!" I turned around and gazed at the "fruits" of my labor, and this is what I saw:
Food enough to feed a small country, and this from just our fridge/freezer. I immediately thanked the Lord for His material provisions for our little family. We live quite frugally, yet we have never had to pray, "Give us this day our daily bread." I am newly resolved to being more cautious when I grocery shop, and more resourceful when I plan meals.
What are you thankful for tonight?

Karen thanks so much for this post! Isn't it amazing how the Lord provides for us in ways that we tend to forget about??
I am thankful for good Christian Friends. We have lived in Illinois for 3 years and just recently at our new church I have made such GOOD friends...it is so refreshing to be encouraged by godly friends!
It IS refreshing to have good friends. That's partly why I enjoy blogging so much.
Wow, I don't think our fridge ever looks that full - even after grocery day! We are forced to be extremely careful with our food budget so I have to plan even down to the snacks I buy. By the end of the week our fridge looks like your empty new fridge! Even though we have a tight budget, we never feel poor because our Lord ALWAYS provides for us.
Btw, do you know what hospital Sara is in? She mentioned a greenville in one of her posts. I hate to bother her to ask but I'd like to send something to her there.
Karen,
I am thankful that God has provided us with another apartment - a much cheaper one. I am also thankful you mentioned Craig's list. I think I want to sell a couch and a recliner. Since I no longer own a home, a garage sale isn't exactly going to work. Can you tell me how exactly Craig's list works? Do I need to pay for shipping? If you want, you can email me at kellyannrad@yahoo.com
Thanks!
Alicia, that's not our fridge--it's our basement freezer, which already had several things in it. But we've never lacked!
I don't know what hospital she's in. I'll find out. That's so thoughtful; I may just follow suit!
