What I've Been Up To

I had Friday and yesterday off, so it's a little bit difficult to be here at work today. But I can not complain! Friday evening we had Ben Everson and family over for a cookout, so I spent the day shopping, cleaning (desperately needed!), and getting things ready for that. It's always such a good feeling to get lots accomplished. And we had a nice time with them, too.

Saturday we attended a choir clinic at church, held by Ben. Then Nate's mom, his sister Shannon (she's visiting from PA), Celeste (his bro's wife) and I all loaded up the car and went to a couple Salvation Armys. They were quite a distance away, but you know how it gets when you put 4 women in a car! :) We had a great time.

Sunday Nate took me to Red Lobster (jealous, Mom?). I LOVE those cheesy garlic biscuits. I think I had 4. :0 Then, of course, we did what any spiritual, as-yet childless couple does on a Sunday afternoon. . . we took a nap. Then it was church and a quick bite to eat, and we picked up ice cream on the way over to the in-laws.

Yesterday's day off was not as fruitful; I hurt my back almost a month ago and am still trying to get it straightened out. So I slept in and went to the chiropractor, and I really tried to take it easy after that. I picked up some lunch and took it to Nate at work, which was fun. I went home and iced my back while I did some reading for my class. By-the-by... after I finish this current assignment, which will hopefully be this weekend, I'll be halfway done with this class! Remember when I was agonizing over whether to take it? :) Anyway, then I did some online research about vaccinations (very fascinating to me but I'm tired of talking about it for awhile!). Nate and I went walking when he got home, and we had dinner, watched 24, and basically just relaxed! Well. I relaxed. He did schoolwork.

I'm not so foolish to think that you're enraptured with the details of my weekend! But that's what I've been up to. How was your weekend?

It sounds like your weekend was great fun! Especially hitting the S. Army with all your family! :) I guess we had a fun weekend too. I got some cleaning done, and we want outside a lot. Fresh air always makes me feel so healthy! We also had fun watching THE Derby. :)

Just wait until AFTER you have Olivia, then naps on Sunday for EVERYONE are a MUST!

I guess I'm just nosy, but I like hearing about what people do with their lives. :) Sounds like you had a balanced work/fun weekend. Did you find any great deals at S. Army?

Yes, I did! I found 2 pairs of maternity capris, both in great shape. I also found a brand-new, adorable little dress outfit for Livvie that should fit her next summer. And a couple other miscellaneous things. :) I like hearing what other people do, too, Pam. :)

do you know how hard it is not to call you "stiney?" sometimes?? :) adamsy doesn't really work well...guess i'll stick with Karen! HA!
anyway, this weekend?? hmmmm....isn't that terrible that i can't think of what we did? OH! I went yard-saleing (that never looks good typed out) and then Nate and I went to Lancaster and toured around at the outlets (potterybarn to be exact) among others... and just tried to spend a nice relaxing morning together. Then nate showed me ohw to work the riding lawn mower, so i mowed the lawn on the tractor - trying to shake this baby out and then nate and his dad installed a light in my kitchen so i have more than a stove and sink light to light up my kitchen! Who knew food could look so bright! :)
Sunday, I thought I was having contractions....just gas! LOLOh well!

Karen, I have a recipe for those Red Lobster biscuits if you want it. They taste pretty darn close to me. Everybody says they love them. Let me know.

Sheesh, Shyla! I get the point! :)

Kelly, I'd love that biscuit recipe! I'm trying to think... are they made with Bisquick or something similar? . . .
