I would love to spend my birthday with my kids hanging out at the beach then finding a fun place to eat!

I love to have a fairly quiet birthday - maybe go for a hike if the weather is nice, or maybe just stay indoors and knit) - and then have dinner with my family (including extended family who live nearby) and play cards or crokinole for the evening.

My idea of a great birthday celebration starts out with a pedicure and then a lunch with friends. Then dinner and movie with hubby!

take time for yourself today, eat breakfast in bed, sleep in if you can, get a sitter if hubby works during day, family is always free or maybe another mom and you could swap out time. go shopping or window shopping. go to lunch with a girlfriend, get a pedicure those always are a great treat. sometimes as moms we forget or dont take time for the little things to make ourselves feel like a beautiful woman. just make it your day, its ok to do that once in awhile :) then come home at the end of the day and hug your children and hubby and shower them with kisses because they trully are the birthday gifts that God has given us !!!!!!!

I'm not sure if you remember me from Northland, but I graduated with Nate. Anyway, for the perfect birthday...I would love to sleep in, go for a long run or bike ride with my boyfriend, meet some of my girlfriends for lunch or coffee, maybe do a little window shopping & then have a nice dinner with my family - maybe even cook it myself (I hardly ever get to cook 'cause my schedule is crazy). Happy Birthday!!! My favorite way to spend my birthday is to have a wonderful day with my husband! I love to scrapbook, so I like to spend some time doing that, but I really like to go to an interesting restaurant with Dh and indulge in a wonderful dessert! I'm coming up on my 30th, though, so I'm thinking I may just skip this one! LOL!
If I could do anything for my birthday I would go to the beach and lay in the sun all day with my hubby and have some fruity drinks and seafood for dinner!
I like to watch a nice movie with my friends, have a great lunch party by the beach and return home to celebrate with my family :D
My birthday is coming up next month but it during the exams period..and what an important exam it is! :(
My birthday was on the 10th and I spent it with my family, and then on a date with my husband!
Happy Birthday! I love to go out to a restaurant with my little kiddos and my husband and have a celebration together. My kids (2 and 4) love going on "dates" -- especially birthday dates!

My birthday is right after Christmas, so selfishly, I really enjoy only a small group of my immediate family - not the entire extended family. The holidays are a lot of fun but they are also exhausting so I like my birthday to be very, very low key. I also like NOT working on my birthday.

Hi Karen!
On my birthdays I like to reminisce about past birthdays...like the one where I got chicken pox right before my party (5) or the year that I got my first pair of ice skates (9), and the year my mom baked the coolest ladybug birthday cake. My favorite part about birthdays is answering the phone when my dad calls. I like to just relax and take a little time for myself, maybe some shopping or time with friends, then an evening with the fam. =) This year my closest friends and I will all be 30--we're trying to arrange a little girls getaway to celebrate. HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY! =)
I usually spend my birthday with my family. I take some time for myself to go out to a favorite haunt, like a book store or a yarn store. Then I come home and spend some time with hubby and kiddos. WE either go out to eat or he cooks, and he always gives me a party with a cutesy, little-kid party theme complete with decorations, cake, etc. Tons of fun.

Happy Birthday, Karen! Not sure how I missed this post, but I'm glad I got in before the deadline! I would sleep in and spend the day with my husband HOME and maybe go out to dinner sans children. The perfect day would HAVE to include ice cream. Definitely.
For my birthday, I find something special to do for someone else. Most people just focus on themselves on their special day, and that is all fine and good, but I love doing things for other people. So, my birthday is a much more special day if I can make someone else happy too.
I hope your day is great no matter what you decide to do with it. Make sure you take time to notice the little things.

I like a mix of family time and me time. I love the cake/ice cream bit with the kids and I also love a dinner out with hubby, or to go shopping for something alone.
I'm pretty easy to keep happy, though. Being around people that love and support me is most important.

1. Sleep in as long as you can.
2. Bring the girls to our house for a few hours so you can go spoil yourself with a pedicure, manicure and massage.
3. Eat whatever you want all day long.
4. Shopping spree with friends.
5. Go out to your favorite restaurant with your hubby for dinner.
6. Put the girls to bed early and enjoy the rest of the night with Nate.

Anyway, i love ANY kind of hoopla or thoughtful act of kindness for my birthday. I don't care what it is - just that someone thought about me on my birthday is a great treat for me! I LOVE my birthday!
OH! I know! Go get a pedicure and then have a big piece of nate's cake with a big o cup of (decaf) java!

Oh, I almost missed this one! I'm a longtime lurker on your blog, I think I've commented once or twice in the past. I remember you slightly from Northland--I was in your husband's class. Anyway, happy birthday!!!
As for how my favorite way to spend my birthday--start by sleeping in while my hubby gets the kids up and dressed, etc. Do something fun and special with my family during the day. Then out to supper with just my hubby while my parents watch the kids. Then a little family party after that, with cake and ice cream!
