As stated previously, we spent a long Labor Day weekend at Nate's parents' home near Chicago. (We left late Friday night and stayed til Tuesday.)
As I got ready to snap the first photo Saturday morning, my camera beeped, went black, and said, "Battery is dead." Great. On the bright side, I was able to enjoy all those memories instead of always trying to capture them.
Saturday morning found Drew sick with a touch of the stomach flu. Later that day, Ryan was feeling it, too. Monday morning rolled around, and Nate was miserable. And Tuesday morning, it was Nate's dad's turn. Those Adams men had a rough time! Thankfully, it seemed to be just a 12-hour thing, and so far we females remain unaffected.
But it wasn't all moaning & groaning! Sunday was the one day everyone felt well, so we made the most of it. We all made it to church in the morning, and after a nap, we trooped downtown to Millennium Park. The kids played in the water, and we had a picnic supper on the grass.
This one learned a few new phrases and words. She's now a pro at scolding Lucy, and also navigating the stairs. Grammy threw a little birthday bash in her honor and spoiled her with presents--lots of pretty headbands, several bottles of nail polish for her toes, a placemat, necklaces & bracelets, a dress, bubble bath, some Elmo underwear, and a 6-pack of scented chapstick. And yes, she is indeed eating mac-n-cheese with her hands, whilst her spoon rests idle.
And this one was spoiled in her own way! After spending time with both grandmothers, Ellia has a hard time falling asleep on her own! But it'll get better, and we're none the worse for it.

My goodness! I have waited FAR too long to check on you, and it has taken me a little while to catch up, but I've enjoyed it! Ellia is getting SO big, and Olivia is changing so quickly from "baby" to "kid!" They both are such a combination of yours and Nate's looks. SO precious. Glad both girls are not JUST gorgeous, but healthy too!! Miss you!
