"To him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin."

Hmm. Is this grounds for disciplinary action?

I'm interested to see what everyone else has to say about this one!! Audrey started telling us she needed to go potty so we started the process. Days like today, I have to remind myself not to become discouraged when she resists training and at all seeming costs!

Come on, people-with-older-children, we need your comments on this post!
I have no experience, but I will tell you that my sister did discipline her kids for this when she was confident they understood.

I'm only leaving a comment because I do have older children. I found your blog through the Burtt's blog--I know you don't know me, but it's fun to read about your life :) Anyway, I have 7 children, the oldest is 12 and the youngest 9 months. As far as potty training goes, our oldest wanted to start when he was 2. It took about 5 months before he made it through the night consistently and was fully potty trained. The next 4 children (3 more boys and 1 girl--in that order), all waited until they were 3. I tried to no avail to start them earlier; however, it took less than a week and no nighttime accidents for them to be fully potty trained. Our #6--another girl--was also 3, but she took a bit longer for the night thing. I'm planning to just wait until our youngest is 3 to start training him. Yes, we do discipline after they understand what is expected and we know that they are capable. It's hard to wait until they are 3, but in my opinion, it's worth it. So, there are my thoughts.......:)
