Lazy Day

Nate left yesterday for a basketball trip and won't return til tonight. So Olivia & I took the opportunity to be a little bit lazy and do some girl stuff! Last night we went to Wal-Mart, where I spent the remainder of a birthday gift card. She went to bed early (8:15!), and I started a lasagna for our neighbors who just had a baby. I cleaned the kitchen and then relaxed on the couch with a dish of Baby Ruth ice cream! Wahoo! She had a rough night--wet through her jammies and sheet. By the time I got her changed, she was wide awake! We lay on the couch until she fell asleep. It was actually kind of nice to snuggle, even if it was 2:30 a.m.

This morning we slept til 8, had breakfast, and headed to Meijer for dog food & other goodies. We took our time there, spending several minutes watching the fish and laughing at the guinea pigs & mice. We strolled through the Christmas displays, too; I have a feeling our Christmas tree ornaments will be pretty sparse this year! She LOVES all the lights! Then, we walked through the toys and pushed all the buttons and switches. It was pretty fun, for both of us.

Now, we're home, and Livvie just finished an early lunch. She's starting to wean herself off of her morning nap, so generally she's pretty wiped out by noon-ish. Especially today, with such an exciting morning! I have only a couple things I REALLY want to get done today--drop off a meal to Gary & Heidi (new baby), do a load of laundry, and have dinner started when Nate gets home. O, and maybe a shower. :) But mostly, I want to focus on spending a really fun day with my girl!

Sounds like a wonderful bonding day! I'm loving have my Chloe-sidekick with me when I do errands or go shopping. I'm going to soak up all that I can of that before baby #2 arrives. Wow, I'm impressed that Livvie will snuggle and actually sleep with you on the couch. Enjoy your quiet afternoon.
