As stated previously, I will be out of a job vvvvvvery soon. Nate & I are always on the lookout for ways to trim expenditures and save moolah. We're not miserly, but we are quite frugal. But now, more than ever, we REALLY need to be cautious! Any practical words of wisdom?

I recently blogged about my new favorite way to save $, thegrocerygame.com and I have to say that I'm still loving it! Free stuff and savings that have really added up. I've also found a slew of frugal bloggers very recently - you can access that list on http://www.momadvice.com/blog/ which is also an amazing tool.
Most practically, I recently was challenged to actually look at the measurement lines on my detergent scoop/cap. I was shocked that the line I was filling up to was meant for 3 loads! ACK! Think of all the $$ I could have saved in college!
Shopping at Aldi has kept our weekly grocery bill low. We buy our clothes second hand or make them. And we only go out to eat once a week after church to subway or the target cafe which costs us less than $10 because I bring pretzels, fruit, and yogurt to go along with the meal. Hope that helps!

It's a great resource! Weekly the author (who is a mom of course) posts where the best deals are for formula and diapers. She also links to several other blogs and posts on freebies, discounts, or super-sales. I've added her blog to my google reader and even though I'm not always personally able to partake in the posted deals her blog is always entertaining and creative.
Thanks, gals.
One more thing, Karen. If you guys qualify for WIC assistance, I highly recommend you apply. It's been a great help to us - free milk, cereal, cheese, and eggs every month!
