Nate & I had planned to go down and visit his parents near Chicago. Then, it turned out that I was off Thursday & Friday, so I went down and stayed the night with them Wednesday night. Then, I drove the 4.5 hours up to see my family! It was such a short trip, but much needed.
Malachi got a kitty for his 2nd birthday. Pumpkin is so cute. Except that he turns into the devil around 9 p.m.
I had just told my mom that Olivia wasn't a "rocking baby." She's never been rocked in her life. Grandma insisted that she could turn Livvie into one. And she did! Olivia experienced lots of "firsts" while we were there. How exciting! It all started when she signed "more" to get more food at dinner. HOORAY! How rewarding that was.
While we were there, my mom bought Olivia her very first babydoll. A cuter sight I've never seen. There were 3 dollies to choose from. 2 of them had hair, which Livvie did NOT care for. She wouldn't even touch them. She wanted the bald one here. She talked and gushed and kept touching her new baby! Then, I said, "Livvie, give her kissies!" And she DID! She also holds it right up on her shoulder and rests her head on the baby's head. Adorable.
Malachi & Olivia play a duet.
Also, Olivia danced for the first time. She was playing with a toy that plays banjo music, and just started be-bopping along!
Poor thing didn't have a decent nap, except in her carseat! We have a great little traveler on our hands!

Wow! No wonder you haven't blogged in a while. :o) Looks like you had a good time. I'd like to go to Chicago too...haven't been there since I was a little girl, and I don't remember any of it (except I had a puffy rust colored sleeveless vest that had a John G. Shedd Aquarium patch on it.)
