On Saturday we spent all day cleaning out our garage. This was no small task, for the man who lived here previously had TONS of old junk in there. Nate used his hammer, prybar, and saw to break up an old table, a rickety ladder, 3 doors, and a wooden crate.
He took a load to the dump, which turned out to be far more expensive than we estimated. Hate it when that happens! We'll have to set the rest of our junk out on the street, a little at a time. Nate hung his garden tool organizer that we got him for Fathers Day, which displays all our garden tools very nicely. He also assembled a large shelving unit and organized stuff on that. Then, we put the remaining things back into the garage, complete with a sizeable pile of garage sale stuff. I wish I had taken "before" photos--then, you'd REALLY appreciate the "after" ones!
We still have more work to do--there are lots of old tools & hardware to sort through--but it looks like I'll actually be able to have the garage sale IN the garage!

It looks great! It always seems as if the garage is the place where everything gets "dumped" and why is it that it is so expensive just to throw things away at the dump???
I KNOW! $45 for one load in a small pickup! Ridiculous!
