Reaping Rewards

You can't really see him up there, but Wade's sitting at the top of the slide.
I love seeing the results of hard work. I have been working with Wade on the alphabet. Nothing grueling or overly serious--he IS only 3, after all--just a little bit here and there. We are working on a personalized book of ABC's, in which he is placing pictures and stickers of things that are significant to him. Well, yesterday we were playing with his letters, and I was telling him the sounds each one makes, and what words begin with each letter, etc... and he was catching on so quickly! When his mom came home, we showed off a bit.
"Wade, where is the letter 'D?' Like Daddy?"
Looks around, points to "D."
"Wade, which letter says, 'ssssssss,' like a snake?"
Picks up "S." "This one! 'Cause it looks like a snake!"
"Wade, show Mommy the 'M' for Mommy."
Looks lovingly at Mommy as he hands her the "M."
Mommy looked ready to cry. I was so proud of myself, and of him, too.

Yea for you!! (and Wade too) I can FULLY understand that feeling, and I often "show off" a bit of LG's new accomplishments as well. It is SO fun to see hard work pay off! Good job! Don't you just LOVE being a nanny?! Think how much advantage Livvie will have with all of your "practice!"
