Sorry, folks, but I'm afraid I probably won't be blogging next week. We're staying the night at Nate's parents' house tomorrow night and then getting up EARLY Sunday morning. Our flight takes off out of Metro at 6:30 a.m. Yikes! Hopefully a certain little girl will still be sleepy enough to snooze through it all.
Anyone have any tried-&-true tips for flying with a baby? I've heard that it helps to nurse or give a pacifier during takeoff to alleviate ear pressure. And I plan to bring lots of quiet toys, too. Anything else? Hopefully I'll be able to avoid a major fiasco, like Kelly Genn had once!
Who knows... maybe I'll get inspired in PA after all.
Adios!

Hey, I gave Audrey her pacifier and that helped her. I would bring a bottle (if she'll take one) it might keep occupied. Maybe bring food to? I usually nurse Audrey in the airport. Hope it goes well for you. You are right your best bet is if you can get her to fall asleep. . . Oh and I usually carry Audrey in the Snuglie. Have fun in PA!
I don't know if the tried-and-true tips work for every baby, but this is what we've done in the past . . . 1) give her cheerios or a bottle while taking off and landing. That will help her to chew/suck while the pressure changes so she doesn't feel weird. 2) If she doesn't want to sleep, give her a bit of kid's benadryl to help knock her out (that didn't work for Chloe but I've heard it works for other babies). 3) have lots of new/different toys/books for livvie to go through one by one during the flight. 4) I echo Trisha, a pacifier is a must!
Where are you guys going in PA? God's grace to you for an uneventful flight!
