I have successfully listed my very first item on eBay! My sister-in-law, Shannon, came over today and graciously spent 2 hours walking me through the arduous process. (She's an eBay pro.) If you're reading this, Shannon, THANK YOU! So far one person has looked at my little item #130006615297, but hopefully some antique lover out there will suddenly have an irresistible urge to buy a Griswold waffle iron. :) Have you ever sold anything on eBay? Do you have any tips/tricks for me?

Oooo...fun! I love Ebay. I'm nosey so when people bid on what I'm selling I like to go to their feedback and look at other things they've purchased. :) No tips really. I bought a dress for Caitlin from the Ukraine once and got ripped off, other than that I haven't had any bad experiences. We once purchased 6 pair of identical men's Ralph Lauren jeans for around $30.00. We then kept a couple and sold the others on Ebay for over $20 each. That 1st seller was silly to sell them all together. Anyway, enough of my rambling...HAVE FUN!
I have never purchased anything on e-bay but I have sold a dozen or more things on it! i have never had a bad experience yet. Just watch the feedback and do what you say you are going to do and you will be fine!!!!
Oh...one thing I have always done is to make your auction end on a Sunday night...people e-bay tons more during the weekend. I have had a few people tell me this!
I can't wait to hear how you do!
Heston has sold a few things on Ebay. We are still learning the tricks ourselves. We are getting ready to put his computer on ebay. Good luck with selling your waffle iron!
I love ebay! I've gotten plenty of things from it & have thought from time to time about starting a business selling things on there. Just keep in touch with your customers. It's nice when they tell you when the item is shipping before you have to ask. And stick with Paypal - it's definitely worth it!
Thanks for the tips! I don't think that's nosey, Vick--I think it's smart! And I wouldn't have thought about making sure my listing extends through a weekend. (this one just so happens to, whew!) I'm excited; now I'm trying to think of all the stuff in my house I can sell!
Vince and I have sold tons of stuff on EBay and bought tons as well. Another good thing is to make sure that you have picture(s) and that they show exactly what you are selling. I know that I don't even look at things if they don't have pictures, and if they aren't clear, I usually bypass them too. You can make tons of money on there if you do it a lot. And it's SO fun watching people bid on your stuff! Hope it sells well!
