Thursday night the two big girls went with me into town for a dentist appointment.
Then we went to the store, where the girls started talking about getting their ears pierced.
One thing led to another, and before we knew it, this was happening:
Ellia was so brave and cried for just a quick minute... until she caught her reflection in the mirror. Then it was this face:
Livvie was not quite so brave... more tears and complaining about the stinging, but pretty soon she was smiling, too,
At bedtime, Ellia said, "Mommy, this was one of the best days of my whole life as a child!"

I was 13 and got my first gold post earrings for Christmas. Mom took me to a nurse friend of hers to have the piercing done. Ice cubes and a large needle did the job. Nothing quick or painless about trying to put the earrings in after the needle came out. The girls will remember this special day forever.
Ow, ow, OWWW!!!!
That sounds horrible!
We are glad we didn't have to do that!
